My love affair with jewellery began as a teenager where I worked for Noel Herd, a local Blenheim Jeweller. Playing in the workshop in my lunch breaks, then being asked to help in the workshop, cemented in a passion for the creative process of jewellery making.

After some travel, marrying my husband Nigel and having our two boys, Archie and Charlie, I returned to my creative hobby and started GMW Jewellery just doing small repairs for friends and making jewellery to sell at local markets.

Fast forward 10 years and GMW Jewellery Limited has grown into a business I am immensely proud of. I still love my job and going to work everyday is something I look forward to with enthusiasm.

Nigel Botham

Nigel operates the Machine Engraving side of the business off site, and in-between his day job as an Aviation Rescue Fire Fighter, and Chief Fire Officer of the Blenheim Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Amelia Pask

Apprentice Manufacturing Jeweller

Coming from a long line of family history in Jewellery, it was inevitable that Amelia was going to be involved in the trade in some way or another. She has many years retail and on the job Jewellery manufacturing and repair experience. Also taught by Noel Herd Amelia has an eye for design and loves the creative challenges that working in the Jewellery trade brings.

Having experienced both the retail and the manufacturing side of the trade helps us to best guide our clients on design and fashion trends while also being able to source materials, gemstones or ready made jewellery where it is best suited.

Aiden Smith

Apprentice Manufacturing Jeweller

Our extremely talented apprentice Aiden started with us in 2021.

After completing an introduction to Jewellery course Aiden dipped his toe in the Jewellery trade working as a bench hand with Jens Hansen in Nelson for 2 years.

After a 5 year gap living in Hamilton #livin&lovinlife Aiden and his partner Lily moved back to Blenheim where Aiden has picked up the trade again.

Vernette Sargeant

Retail Assistant

A lot of customers will recognize the lovely Vernette, who after 30 years working in Pharmacy is a very familiar face in Redwood-town. Vernette is the friendly face who will greet you instore on a Tuesday and Thursday and she can assist you with your Jewellery purchases.

Laura Main

Marketing Co-ordinator & Retail Assistant

Our Gen Z breath of fresh air Laura has been with GMW Jewellery since the tender age of 15! As the "After school girl" Laura started out with just a few hours a week. She finished school at the end of 2022 and came on board full-time. In the 4 years with GMW Jewellery Laura has absorbed loads of knowledge and can assist with all retail sales, in-taking of repairs and re-makes and design ideas.

Laura has taken on the huge role of updating our fabulous website and keeping everyone up-to-date through our social media. Fitting watch batteries, straps, re-stringing pearls/beads and Jewellery cleaning. Laura also handles our outsourced work making sure everything is getting to where it needs to be.

Being the youngest member of the team Laura keeps everyone entertained with her weekend stories.

Della

Coming to the shop since she was 10 weeks old, Della is a much-loved member of the GMW Jewellery Team. Loves to steal coffee, and on multiple occasions Laura's lunch.

Duke

The newest addition to the GMW Jewellery Team, Duke loves to be the center of attention and would be most pleased if you told him how beautiful he is.
